Gina is the mastermind behind the fashion-tabulous, poetic blog called, "Awed." Her photo album displays an array of original, creative collections which are sure to provide inspiration and motivation.
She ardently tests the boundaries of crochet with a conglomerate of updated generational styles, from early 1910's-esque high waistline, decorative boutique dresses to 1950's matching secretarial jacket and skirt combinations to modern reconstructed, abstract apparel. Interspliced amongst those are several designs featuring bold, afro-centric patterns. All of her designs showcase an attention to detail.

Summer Sizzler 2009: A Hot Fusion of Models Partying Poolside!
Drop by often, constantly updating....
Doesn't the pool look so inviting?!
"What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself."
STOP AND PAY ATTENTION! Set an intention to be more aware. Become a watcher, of yourself and what’s around you. Develop the witness, the part of you that can step back from life and impartially observe how you react and think and feel. We learn so much about who we are!
"Knowing others is wisdom; knowing the self is enlightenment."
"The true profession of man is to find his way to himself."
Internet @ home acting up so I had to head over to the pool and get in my blog entry--I really don't like skipping a day, especially when so many wonderful thAngs happened today...some are hush-hush until it materializes fully. Anywho, 7:30am photo shoot went very well--the model is new to me but we kept in touch @ 65 messages back and forth on Model Mayhem plus a few phone convos before this day...The photographer I had worked with before but didn't know it until I saw him face to face today...He remembered me and I did think he looked familiar...
East Cobb Park in Marietta, GA was a delight to shoot in...

Meeeeee!
Choose to accept and become the person God has made you to be. Tap into the oriGINAlity and creative genius of God in your life. If you're not you, then who are you going to be?
Is he straight pimping crochet?! Wait a minute, I'm The HHIC--Head Hooker In Charge, get off my corner, NOW
There was so much fun posting pictures on twitgoo....They ask, "What are you looking at?" Well, me and my work.....It is a constant reminder to do and embrace who and what you are!
Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might!!!
Live your own life
"We don't always know what makes us happy. We know, instead , what we think SHOULD. We are baffled and confused when our attempts at happiness fail...We are mute when it comes to naming accurately our own preferences, delights, gifts, talents. The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people's expectations. The tongue of the original self is the language of the heart."
We are each unique beings with a unique path in life. If we wish to be fulfilled, we need to go to our own hearts for direction. We might regularly ask ourselves:
- "What do I really want to do?"
- "What brings me greatest happiness?"
- "How can I bring more of these into my life?"
Life wants us to go for what brings us most joy and meaning.
"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. ...I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing."
"Let me listen to me and not to them."
"What you must dare is to be yourself."
We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action. ~Frank Tibolt
The skirt purchased on yesterday started this creative journey. Actually, I was drawn to it while in the shop and thought of the model who is to wear it for an upcoming photo shoot. I knew I would purchase a charteuse color. Today @ Hobby Lobby I saw this lime ombre and had to have it--used my 40% coupon on that "bad boy", wink. 15 minutes earlier I was inthe Dollar Store and purchased lime silk flowers and ribbon trim....
An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it occupied. ~Arnold Glasow
(I picked up these 2 green bangles on my errands today, too...I'm enjoying the way this plan is coming together...now, if I don't get distracted, again--my eyes have spied a wonderful combination of marroon yarn/lace/kente cloth, oh my!)
Inspirations never go in for long engagements; they demand immediate marriage to action. ~Brendan Francis

Fear and worry are like interest paid in advance on something you may never own. ~ John Mason
The word worry is derived from an Anglo-Saxon term meaning "to strangle" or "to choke off". There is no questioin that worry and fear do choke off the creative flow from God. As we dwell on and worry about matters beyond our control, a negative effect begins to set in. Too much analysis always leads to paralysis.
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22
Never respond out of fear, and never fear to respond. Action attacks fear; inaction reinforces it. Take your fear and worry to the Lord, "casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7)
~John Mason

I love your work! Very inspiring! From one artist to another! Happy to see another sista doing her thing! ~ Clarice

Make time to play
"If we fail to nourish our souls, they wither, and without soul, life ceases to have meaning.... The creative process shrivels in the absence of continual dialogue with the soul. And creativity is what makes life worth living."
Stress, fear, negativity, too much to do and doing things for others at the expense of our own needs -- these all stifle our innate creativity. Relaxation, fun, meditation, and going after our dreams all get the creative juices flowing. Soul is always creative, always fresh and new.
How can you create more space in your life to allow the soul’s energy out to play?
"I learned... that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic, striving, but it comes to us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness."
"I lived in solitude in the country and noticed how the monotony of quiet life stimulates the creative mind."
Staying the Course
By BJ GallagherOur journey of life is about progress,
![]()
not perfection.
It's not about doing one thing
100% better -
it's a matter of doing 100 things,
1% better each day.Progress is evolutionary
not revolutionary,
and most days we measure our progress
in inches,
not miles.What matters most
is showing up for your life
whether you feel like it
or not.Ask yourself,
"What two or three little things
can I do today
that would move me forward?"You'll be amazed
at how much distance
you can cover
by taking it in increments.The little things add up;
the inches turn to miles;
and we string together our efforts
like so many pearls.
Before long,
look what you have -
a whole strand!Ah... beautiful.

"This moment is the moment of reality, of union, of truth. Nothing needs to be done to it or to you for this to be so. Nothing needs to be avoided, transcended, or found for it to be so." -- Da Avabhasa
Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
You are the company you keep. This well-known saying is just a short and weak version of Solomon's warning. No matter how wise you are, foolish friends will bring you trouble. But also, no matter how foolish you are, wise friends will teach you wisdom.
What a simple rule for wisdom and life! Dear reader, reject fools and choose wise men as your friends, and you will grow in wisdom and avoid much trouble in life. Even athletes use superior competition to bring out their best, though it may mean losing regularly.
Is it easy to make this choice? No. Your heart will lie that you are strong enough to resist foolish friends, and you may face the hard fact that some of your better friends are fools.
The Bible declares, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (I Cor 15:33). The warning of deception is to save you, as many think friends are not dangerous. But if you allow an evil input in your life, you will certainly lose your good manners.
Fools cannot be real friends to a child of God. It is impossible, for they are incompatible by nature. They have nothing of value to offer. Ignore feelings or past history, and cut off your foolish friends. What is a fool? They do not fear God (1:7; Rom 16:17-18)?
David separated from the ungodly and fools (Psalm 1:1; 101:1-8; 119:115), and he chose companions of those who feared God (Psalm 119:63,79). Did he have good friends? His relationship with Jonathan was wonderful (I Sam 18:1-4; 20:16-17; 23:16; II Sam 1:26).
Child training includes monitoring friends, for peer pressure is one of the greatest threats to children and youth. Many noble parents make large schooling decisions to protect their children, but fail to monitor friends from church, relatives, sports, and the neighborhood.
Godly men are lovers of good men, so you must learn to discriminate wisely (Titus 1:8). Since men can be easily ranked on a scale of virtue and wisdom, wise men will move toward those on the top of the scale, even among a church’s membership.
How far should you flee fools? Very far! Go not in the way with them (1:15; 4:15; 9:6), and have no fellowship with them (Eph 5:11-12)! Your soul is at stake, dear reader.
Wisdom starts by fearing the Lord, which must be the first trait you seek. A good church can and should provide most or all of such friends (Heb 3:12-13; 10:23-25; II Pet 1:1).
